How and where do I choose that I want to print on card stock rather than regular paper?

I assumed you have checked your printer specifications to ensure that the
card stock is not too heavy for the printer.

In the application you want to print from choose File, Print. You will get a
printer window. You should see a button labeled Properties or Settings.
Click on that button will bring up your printer driver settings where you
can select the type of paper you are using. The printer settings will
return to default when you close the application.

If you want the default settings for your printer to be card stock, then you
need to change that in Windows, Printers.

If you do not find card stock listed, choose something similar like greeting
card.
