printing on index cards

Is it possible to use Word to create a 4X6" document and then print it on
4x6 index cards?

I don't know how to create a 4x6 document first of all. I tried to reduce a
standard blank document in Word but that didn't work. I tried the Help
line and microsoft.com but couldn't find an answer there. Could you give me
some steps to get started or a help site? Also, I have an HP Deskjet 832c
printer. Do you happen to know if I can feed regular 4x6 index cards into
this for printing?
Thanks.

Start Word, go to File / Page Setup / Paper Size and scroll down to
Custom. Add the dimensions as needed. Another way is to adjust margins
so what you have left on a page is about 4x6 and figure out which
corner permits printing on the card, assuming the 4x6 will even feed
in the printer. I have an older LaserJet printer, and it won't feed
4x6 cards, but does work with 5x7 cards.

Try it. Just print a regular page that is totally blank and see if the
card feeds. If so, you can experiment and figure out which corner of
the paper needs to be printed on to write on the card, then fiddle
with margins. This might be easier than messing with custom paper
sizes. You'll just have to play with it for a while.
