printing photos in handouts/slides

Having trouble printing photos to handouts or slides. They will show
up when color option is selected, but as a black box when a greyscale
or b&w option is selected. Also, when the file is saved as a PDF
photos show up as a black box in the color preview of the slides.
These pics are taken from iphoto as .jpg's but when save as a .tff (in
iphoto) and imported there is no difference. Any other options I'm
missing here?

Matt -
Go to the grayscale view. Click on the photo that is printing black.
Control+click to access the grayscale setting menu. Set the grayscale
setting to "Automatic" for the object.
