Printing postcards in publisher 2007

Printing postcards with publisher 2007 is impossible. You can get your
document ready then go to print and the program wants to print the front and
back of the postcard on the same side. If you use two seperate documents, one
for the front and one for the back, it prints them the same way so that the
postcards do not match front to back. What can you do to fix this problem?

When you print a postcard in 2007 you have to designate "print multiple pages
per sheet."

If you have John Doe on the left front, you will have to have "Dear John" on the
right back.

Right, but when I try to print it, publisher puts the second page on the same
side as the first page. Unless I am doing something wrong? When I printed the
individual documents publisher started on the left side of the page on both
sides.

Right, this is as it should work.

It is up to you to manually change the publication so one side is opposite the
other.

As you can tell I am new to publisher 2007. Is there a setting to change in
publisher 2007 to make it start on the right for the second page?

M

Mary Sauer

No, but with the amount of scratch area you have, it wouldn't be too tough to
drag the left to the right and vice versa.

So why was there such a big change in functionality from xp to 2007? And in
other words you can not print postcards with publisher 2007 without a
tremendous effort?

Douga, I think I have lead you down the proverbial primrose path. There is no
difference in how postcards are setup in any version of Publisher.

All I am trying to tell you is if you are setting up your postcards manually,
anything that is on the left on the front of the card will be on the right on
the back of the card.

I guess my big problem is, with publisher xp i could control what pages print
by my printer and that would line the pages up correctly. Now I can not do
that and I don't know how.

The best way to setup the postcards is to scroll down to the Avery choices.
Select one of the standard Avery US Letter setup, such as 3263 landscape or 3263
portrait.

The page setup in 2007 in my humble opinion is not user friendly. I have
discovered by using the built in commercial templates work better than setting
up the pages myself.
