Printing Poster with Graphics

We develop large posters (42"X54") that have high resolution pictures.
Everytime we try and get them printed by professionals (i.e. Kinko's) or
amateurs alike, we never get good results. Sometimes only some of the images
will have high resolution or formating of the slide will change. Are there
settings that I can manipulate in order to ensure proper formatting and
quality everytime I get a poster printer? Also, would it make a difference
if the poster was made using PowerPoint on a Mac and then printed on a PC?

If you can be more specific about the formatting changes you're seeing, we
can probably offer better information.

That said, I'd guess you're having font issues -- that is, the fonts you
used to create the presentation aren't available on the PC.

Problems:
1. Pictures will not print on occasion or they will only partially print
2. Text will shift, usually downwards
3. Some part of the pictures are crisp and have the same resoulution as
seen on the monitor, and others will have very poor resolution. This seems
to change with each attempt to print the document

If you can be more specific about the formatting changes you're seeing, we
