Printing PowerPoint Slides Speed Issue

S

Suppose

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I have recently migrated from an old acer windows laptop running office 2003 (i think) to a macbook OSX 10.5.6 running mac for office 2008.

Problem is that printing presentations to my HP Laserjet 1320 printer used to be MUCH quicker with my old set-up.

At the moment each slide is taking around a minute to print compared to very little waiting time with the acer.

I have played around with economy mode, black and white settings etc but this has made no difference. it does the same with handouts too

often use images, phots etc so some slides are detailed but this did not cause printing issues before. can anyone help? thanks

Adding more memory can help, and luckily memory for the 1320 is cheap. Places like Crucial.com carry it
and can tell you exactly what to get and how much you can install.

I'm betting, though, that you've got a PostScript driver installed on the Mac, where you may've had a PCL
driver installed on the Windows PC. The printer handles either, but the PS mode isn't what you'd call
blazingly fast, especially with images.

As a start, see if a PCL driver's available for your Mac.

Economy mode won't change the printing speed but lowering the resolution should.

Additional to Steve's insights make sure you have the latest Mac driver for
the printer - if you installed from the original printer software it may
mell not be. Check the HP site to be sure.
