Printing problem

I have replaced an ancient hp laser 4L with a not so
ancient 5L. When trying to print an envelope, using 5l as
the default printer the result is a mess. When I then rev
select 4L as the printer all is correct. I know I can
keep switching back and forth but how to correct this
problem so the envelope will print correctly with 5L
selected.
