Printing Problems From Access 2003 to Network Printers

Hi All

I have a 2003 Active Directory running with mandatory profiles. When a user
attempts to print from MS Access on a client PC nothing happens and if i
hover the mouse over the print button (no printer) appears.

I cannot use File>Print or File>Page Setup.

It is only Access that is affected as all other programs (MS and non MS)
work with no problems.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the exact same problem. Access 2003 with SP2 installed. (No
printer) over the printer icon, cannot print preview and print.
Detect/Repair does nothing.

I finally managed to sort the problem yesterday (sort of anyway)

Access 2003 does not want to print at all only when the default printer is a
network one - i had to set a local printer (used MS image writer) on LPT1 and
then change the printer from within the app.

This isn't a perfect fix but it works.

Let me know if you want to know anything else about it..

I used your idea and tweaked it a little.

The printer the user was trying to print to was a network printer, so I set
up a new local printer and then created a TCP/IP port using that printer's
address.

Works like a champ!

Sorry, i should have mentioned that.. i am running mandatory profiles with no
config on the desktops, so did not want to install anything locally - glad it
worked for you.
