Printing problems, from my application only

access runtime 2003. XP
I have an application that runs on a network computer.
Recently i have a problem with the printing from the applcation.
The computer that can't print from my application, is capable of printing
from other office program such as word etc. the application can print to pdf
file.
the problem happens like this:
the application opens a report, print it, close it.
the report reaches the printer - and then the printer get stuck, there is no
way to release it but turn it off and then on again.
If anyone has an idea how to solve this issue - I would be greatful !

No Access application should ever run from a server, unless it is a Terminal
Server (or other thin client server like Citrix). If only one person ever
runs the application, use it from your workstation. If it is a multi-user
application, split it, and put the data file on the server, linked to a
front-end with all the other objects on each workstation. Even on a Terminal
Server, the application should be split, but each user would connect from
their own copy of the front-end also on that server.

Now delete the printer from any machine which do not work and recreate it,
setting it to be the default printer, if possible. After you've done all
that, open the report in design view and set the report to print from the
default printer, or from the specific printer, then save it and close it.
Reopen it and it should work.

Thanks for your fast reply.
How do I define the report printer in design mode ?
This application is installed in customers sites, usually their system is
home system, the network is two computers (at most) with network cable
between them, and not a server and client method.
That why I can't always install it in a server-client way. This is a
problem, I know, but that the way it is. And so far it worked ok.
I have a different location in which the printer does not give us a problem
with the printing.
I will try and let you know if it worked.

Hello again -
After tring your idea, and others, no solution was found.
The printer is HP Laser Jet 5P.
I've download a driver from HP, driver of this printer 5P/5MP, and then a
funny thing happened.
After I've installed it, when the default printer was other printer, and the
user choose the printer HP (when it wasn't the default printer), then the
printer response OK and print the report.
The only problem is that i manage a Print que that uses the default printer,
and the user can't control the default printer after he prints the que, and
that why I can't use the printer interface on each print out.

If someone has an idea how to solve it from this point - I would be greatfull.
I'm this close to buy a new printer for this customer, sometime it will save
me more time that to solve old printer problems.
