Printing problems with booklets in Publisher 2007

Someone did ask this question already, but in previous versions of publisher
if I had a 10 page booklet and I put in to print page 2, it would ask me if I
wanted to print it as a separate page or not, if I answered NO (which I
always did) it would print pages 2 and 9 automatically. Mary has already said
that there is a NEW feature which means you have to work out which page
matches in 2007, so instead of me just typing in page 2 and the PC working
out page 9 goes with that. I know have to do it myself and type in 2,9. Great
eh? A backwards step me thinks.

Also even when I do this approach it seems to get it wrong. Pages 1,10 come
out right but pages 2,9 come out in the wrong order so that went I put my
paper back through to print on the other side. The booklet goes from page
1,9,3,7,5,6,4,8,2,10, instead of 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. I'm just about ready
to switch back to Publisher 2003, I will need to for printing booklets
anyway, that is for sure.

Is there a solution? I've searched the web and tried everything. The only
thing that works is using pub2003 for printing.

I have made tons of special fold booklets in publisher 2003. In fact each
year I make a 48 page booklet, which is made up of 4 pages on each A4 page.
This booklet is printed 50 times. So I usually do 50 of each page. So I don't
want to print just one copy of the booklet at a time. If you print the
booklet in 2007 in one go, it does it right, but when you try to do it page a
time as I've done so many times before in 2003 it doesn't work. Its ok at
least a 2007 document works in 2003 I'm going back to 2003 to get the thing
printed. I would like to know the answer to this though.

In 2003 I would have selected page 2 for printing and in my current document
it would have printed page 47 with it. It would have printed page 2 on the
left side and page 47 on the right hand side, which is correct. in 2007 even
if I type in 2,47 so its at least doing the right pages, it prints page 2 on
the right hand side and page 47 on the left hand side which is totally wrong.

I teach MS Applications at college, so I do know a bit about them and this
does seem to be a bug to me.

The print interface for 2007 is a mess to say the least. I have spent my morning
trying to get the correct print for a booklet. It is a no go. As you have
discovered the only way it works is to print the whole thing. I never received
the "no" option in 2007.
I have reverted back to 2003 for booklets. I have reported the print problems.
Maybe in the service packs.

I recently UPGRADED from PUB 2000 to PUB 2007.

There is NO comparison between the two.

This certainly seems confusing. However, if you list the page numbers
backward of how you want them, then you should get them right. It's a good
idea to check Print Preview to be sure, just reverse it if it's not what you
want. I wouldn't cry, however, if they changed to be more straight forward.
I do like this feature (being able to choose your own page numbers) in that
if I change several pages and want to see just those pages I can list all the
pages I want and only those print. Usually if I want to check a page I don't
need to see it's correct opposite. But I take it that this person wants to
print one page at a time as part of his final print so the correct order is
important . I do like the expanded information that is right up front. If
I'm still working on a document I can see what setting I used the last time I
printed, and if I need to make a change.
