printing problems with clipart

Hi,
Can anyone help:

I can print documents with pictures from file but not with pictures from
clipart.
I get a blank page. I looked over some similar threads and tried the
possible 'fix its' but no luck (did solve another problem...thanks
garfield-n-odie:) ).
I do a lot of work for teachers and library from home and i'm desperate :)
any suggestions will be helpful.

What version of Word? Did you insert the clipart into the main body of
the document, or into the header or footer, or by clicking on Format |
Background, or how? Does the clipart appear in print preview? If you
pretend for a moment that we can't see your screen from here, can you
tell us what 'fix its' you've already tried? See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=555375 .

Sorry -left a lot of info:

Vistas but with Word 2003
I insert into body--it has worked/printed in past
I checked the box to allow background/images (that allowed the pictures from
file to print)
I've also made sure my printer and computer are connected properly
I usually format the clipart to behind text.
I tried every option and still no art--just text. I also tried w/o
text--just clipart
It does show in print preview.
Thanks :)

If the clipart appears in print preview, then Word thinks it is sending
the clipart to the printer even if the clipart doesn't actually print.
You might try:
1. Printing to a different printer to see if the problem persists.
If not, then you should check your printer manufacturer's website to see
if there is a newer Vista-compatible printer driver for your printer.
If you have a relatively old printer, you might have to bite the bullet
and buy a new one. Sitting on a shelf in my garage are several inkjet
printers and a laser printer that print perfectly from Windows 98
computers, but I can't find a Windows XP printer driver that works with
any of them.
2. Turning off background printing in Word by clicking on Tools |
Options | Print | uncheck the "Background printing" box | OK.
3. Reducing the output dpi (print quality) in File | Print |
Properties. This often works if you are printing complex graphics to a
laser printer that has relatively little memory, but usually doesn't
matter if you are printing to an inkjet printer.
4. Turning off print spooling and advanced text services in Windows
by clicking on whatever the Vista equivalent is for Windows XP's Start |
Control Panel | Printers and Faxes | <right-click on your printer> |
Properties.

Have you checked to see whether there is an updated driver for your printer?
