I work for a large government contracting proposal group and we, of course,
use MS Word (2003). As the graphic artist of the group, I regularly use
Adobe Illustrator for the graphics. Upon completion, I export the graphics
into a .png format to be inserted into the Word document. The file size is
usually very minimal, however, when the file prints, the print spool size is
exponentially larger and takes a very, very long time to print the file. For
example, I've had a .doc which had a file size of 673 KB swell to over 6GB in
the print que!!! I've reinserted the same graphics as .tif files and the
file size grew, but the printer didn't have any problems with printing at a
normal speed. My template forces me to use .png. I was wondering if there
is anything I could do to keep the .png files, but speed the printing
process? Thank you for your time and effort in answering my question.
