printing row numbers in Excel 97

Hi again,

along with the gridline challenge, I can't seem to find a way to print
the row numbers.. is there a way to do that.

this document has 11 pages horizontally, and total pages for printing
is 220, having row numbers would be VERY helpful.

Any way to do that easily?

thank again,
gary

File|page setup|sheet tab
check that box for "row and column headings"

If you really only want the row numbers, but not the column headings, you'll
have to do it yourself.

A helper column (new column A) filled with formulas:

=row()

ok, tried that, I had done that before, but it's only showing the
column headings, actually I set that up above in the "Rows to repeat
at top" setting....

should I undo that?

The options for the "row and headings" are:

none
at end of sheet
as displayed on sheet

I picked "as displayed on sheet", right????

thanks,
gary

Got it!!!!

It was set to "Draft Quality", when I unticked those, it displays
perfectly now.

Thanks for the help!!!

In File>Page Setup, on the Sheet tab, remove the check mark from 'Draft
quality', if there is one.

Go to file, page setup, click on sheet tab. You should
have some boxes you can check, check the gridlines box
and print row and column headings
