Printing slides that have overlapping graphics with gradient tran.

I have problems when I print graphics with overlapping gradient
transparencies. For example: I place an photo, then place a gradient fill box
on top (say black going to completely transparent) - when I look on the
screen I still see part of the photo but it is partially hidden by the
overlapping box. When printed the box is completely opaque - obscuring any
area of the photo it covers. In otherwords, the transparent area becomes
solid. How can this be corrected?

Right click on the autoshape with gradient. Then select Cut.
Click Edit > Paste Special.
Select Picture (PNG) to paste it as a picture instead.
Now print again.
