Printing to 44" wide Paper when the default is 34"

I am trying to print to an Epson Stylus Pro9000 plotter and am having
problems getting Visio to accept custom size paper.

The Epson Plotter supports paper widths up to 44".

If I go to the page setup menu The paper sizes in the printer paper selector
go up to 34" wide. By choosing setup I should be able to set a custom paper
size.

Steps
1) Select Set Up
2) Select Printer ( bottom of menu)
3) Confirm that the Epson printer is selected then select Properties
4) On the Paper/Quality tab select advanced
5) In the Paper Size drop down menu choose "PostScript Custom Page Size
6) Enter the paper size you would like to use (44" x 36").
7) Select OK
8) Select OK
9) Select OK
10) Select OK
11) Select OK
12) You should now be looking at the Page Setup Menu. In the Printer Paper
menu It should say PostScript Page Size. To the right it under the image of
the printer paper and drawing page is should show the printer paper as being
44" x 36" and the Drawing Page also being 44" x 36". instead it shows 11' x
8.5".

Is this a bug in Visio? Is there a work around? Did I waste several
thousand dollars buying a 44" printer that my software can't support?
