In Office 2001, I was able to print to file a selected print area of
an Excel worksheet. I was able to print the area to a "Microsoft EPS
Mac Enhanced EPS" file. This was a handy feature that allowed me to
then use the EPS file for use in a page layout program such as Quark.
In Excel for OS X, this feature appears to not be available. I am
forced to do the following:
1. Print selected area to PostScript.
2. Distill PostScript file in Acrobat 6 Distiller.
3. From within Acrobat, save resulting PDF file to EPS.
4. Then import the EPS from Acrobat into my page layout program.
This makes for a lot of extra steps in what once was an easy method
for using spreadsheets as independent graphics for page layout
programs on the Mac.
Maybe I was one of the few who used this feature, but in the printing
world, this was an excellent method! Any ideas?
