Apparently, the office sp2 update that I had trouble with is giving me
another headache. I can no longer print to .mdi or save to .mdi. Has a
setting changed with the latest update I should be familiar with?

Hi Spencer,

You didn't mention what happens when you try to use
MS Office Document Imaging or the Document Imaging Writer

There haven't been any particular issues with it that I've
come across. If you're printing/saving over a network
connection you may need to check your firewall settings
to see if it's a change in version settings that are
an issue, otherwise you may want to do a repair/reinstall of Office 2003
from Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel.

I have A laptop with no printers installed. Over the past, I would print a
particular page or document and it would save into My Documents or where ever
as a .mdi file that I should be able to open with Microsoft Office Document
Imaging Viewer. However, since the sp update during the last month or so;
this ability to print and save has not worked. Although it does prompt to
save and allow me to name the file; it actully does not save and the printer
icon appears with a the error message about the file I tried to print.

I am experiencing the exact same problem. Before the update, my choices for
a printer on my laptop were fax and the imagewriter. After the update, only
the fax was available and I cannot figure out how to set up the document
imaging as a "printer."
