Printing vs. Screen View

I have a document several pages long. I am working on it
in the print layout view, however the view on my screen
differs from the actual print preview. Why is this and
how do I make them the same in order to make corrections?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Displaying nonprinting characters (especially Hidden text) will make Print
Layout view diverge from Print Preview.
