Printing with a background colour in Word 2003

I have a document with a black background and white and red font colours. In
normal view it is fine but as soon as I go into print preview or try to print
it on my colour deskjet it reverts to white background with some of the text
turned to black and some not! HELP?? I have no idea what else to try....

Check tools > options > print > background colors and images
Note that backgrounds are intended for web pages rather than printed
documents. Your printer almost certainly will not print to the edge of the
page.
