Printing Word

I have created a small document in word and have customized the size of paper and margins. I have typed in the 4 words (total) I would like to be printed and it prints blank. I went into Print Preview and it too is a blank document. I have recreated the document from scratch - what is happening? Is it a margin problem? I've received no message that anything is 'out of the printable area'.

First things first ...

Make sure that Office, OS X *&* your printer driver are fully updated and
that you've run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions (or the equivalent).

If doing the above doesn't resolve the problem you'll need to supply
specifics in order for anyone to be helpful;

What are the "custom" page dimensions?
What are the margin settings?
How have you formatted/laid out the content of the document?
Do you have a similar issue with other documents as well or just this
particular one?
Does the problem exist if using print preview in another program?

Any additional details you can supply could be useful.
