I have a long Word file. When I try to print it out it is shrunk to about 1/2 of the page. I have tried things like checking "Fit to page" and unchecking "downsize only" but nothing works. Sometimes the first page is full-size and then the rest reverts to smaller.

Does "squeezed into the upper left corner with very big right and bottom
margins" describe your document? If so, in File | Print, change Copies
and Pages to Microsoft Word, and set Print What to "Document" (make sure
Print What says nothing about "Markup"). If that prints properly, post
back for the real fix.

Exactly! Thanks much--With your corrections it printed fine. So, is there a permanent fix for this?

Hi Don:

That was it! That was the "Permanent" fix.

The document stores the last print options used, so if you saved the
document after printing, that fix will stick.

Cheers

Well, that is the fix, but there's something causing the problem that
ought to be resolved.

Word 2004/2008 prints comments, track changes, and other markup as
balloons in the margin. When your doc prints out like that, it means
Word is allowing space to print the markup balloons--so there might be
some markup in your document that needs to be deleted. Bring up the
Reviewing Toolbar and Accept All Changes, then Delete All Comments, to
clear out the markup.

It's also possible Word just went wiggy and allowed space even though
there is no markup in the document, but that bug was supposed to be
fixed in an update to Word 2004. But sometimes bugs come back from the dead.
