printing

Won't print word documents. Error message: Despooler
Error "initialisation failed: could not open spool file"
Have uninstalled Office 2000 and reinstalled, have
uninstalled printer and reinstalled, have created new
spool file. Will print from notepad and word pad. Am
using windows98. Can anybody help? Please.
