Prints to wrong Network Printer

J

Jason Null

We have had several users running XP w/ SP2 and Publisher 2003 w/SP2 who have
moved locations in our buildings. When they setup a new printer that is close
to them and print the file prints to the Old printer they used even though it
is not installed or is not set as default.

We have tried removing the user profile and starting from scratch but it
does the same thing when several network printers are installed.

I then tried creating LPT Printers but then nothing prints at all from
Publisher.

All the other office applications, Word, Excel, Access, etc... are fine and
do not have this issue. This only seems to be happening when Publisher is
used.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Open the file, print setup, select the new printer. Save the document, close.
Open the document and try printing again.
Publisher saves all printer information with each file. I can't say the above
will help, but it is worth a try.

I get the same problem, there seams to be an apprent flaw in Publisher 2003
that is not in previous versions.

If a user saves thier publisher file in one location, and then moves to
another office area with different default networked printer and opens the
file, the publisher file will still print to origional default printer. Even
if it has been removed and the printer is not visible to the user, the
publisher file will still print to the origional default printer (each office
area has its own default printer, and the users cannot setect different
printers, they are limited to the networked printer in thier location).is the
any way of removing printing information from the publisher or stopping
publisher ignoring the Default Printer.
