Priority, Standard leveling

Using MS Project Standard 2007; Have two a set of tasks assigned to priority
900, other tasks assigned priority 500; I then level resources and expected
to see all resources assigned to Priority 900 tasks FIRST, then when all
Priority 900 tasks complete, THEN the priority 500 taskss BUT when I look at
my Gant I see Priority 500 interspersed (schedule-wise) with the Priority
900. Again I epxected all of my Priority 900 to have an end date in advance
of the Priority 500. What am I missing??

Depends on your leveling settings.
Make sure "Priority, Standard" is selected.

Depending on how much leveling is required and your schedule logic, you may
have some 500 priority tasks before some 900 priority tasks. For example a
500 priority task with a unique resource and no predecessors may be leveled
to start at the very beginning of the project. If it shares a resource with
a 900 priority task then it would go later than that task.
