Pro11.msi help!

I've searched through the forums and the internet and i still can't find
anything to remedy this problem.

before everybody starts harping about having the disk etc let me just
say that i already have it, that's not the concern..

the problem i'm having is that every time i try open anything on my
computer it automatically opens microsoft word and gives me a whole load
of error messages. I think it's trying to open up everything in word for
some reason. It's also preventing me from going into safe mode (the F8
way at start up) and i cannot use the search, run or help & support
function on my start menu.

I can access My Computer and My documents but can't run any programs.
I've tried opening add/remove but that just opens up Word again :'(

I honestly do not know what's going wrong.

some preface to this is that i removed the link to Word from my
objectdock and then pinned word to the start menu to avoid unnecessary
desktop icons and i renamed the link from WINWORD to MicroSoft Word.
After that everything fell apart.

now it asks me to install PRO11.MSI and it opens up word en masse (18
times last time)..

does anybody have any clue as to what's happening here.

any help would be appreciated!!!!

If you are encountering .msi errors then it sounds as though the Windows
Installer data for Office is broken. To rectify, obtain the Windows
Installer Cleanup Utility from here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Use it to remove the reference to your Office installation then reinstall
Office using your installation CD to recreate the Windows Installer entries.
Note that the Cleanup Utility doesn't remove Office, only the Windows
Installer entries.

I suspect it won't rectify the issues you are having with Windows but it's a
start. It almost sounds like you ran a some type of Registry cleaner
utility??
