I have a few end users that are trying to import files created with
either Excel 97 or Excel XP into Access XP. The users also have Access
97 (installed into a completely seperate folder than c:\program
files\microsoft office\. I think it's c:\program files\Access97) to
support a legacy database application that will hopefully be going
away soon.
When they try to import an Excel file into Access XP, the application
freezes. There are not error messages, and it never times out. I have
let Access sit for up to 30 minutes, and it simply freezes. Often, you
cannot end task on it, and the computer must be rebooted in order to
clear the frozen app. I've checked Technet and various newsgroup
archives with no success. If anyone can provide assistance, it would
be appreciated.
