Prob with append query in macro

I have a processing db with one macro that runs many macros/queries. I have
added a linked table to another db and an append query that should append
records from the linked table to an internal table. After inserting the
OpenQuery into the main macro, it fails to append. Running the query by
itself works fine, and if I insert the OpenQuery into the main macro twice,
it fails the first time but runs the second time. Obviously putting it into
the process twice is not good practice, any suggestions would be appreciated.
