Prob. with copy and paste in old Word 2000 doc using Word 2003

Prob. with copy and paste in old Word 2000 doc using Word 2003. Used to have
Office 2000 Professional, my machine got wiped out with a clean install and
now I try to cut and paste from my old documents (cut works fine), but when
it comes time to paste nothing happens. I have Office 2003 Professional
(SP1). Any suggestions?...

This sounds very much like a third-party tool running under Windows, or possibly
a Word Add-in. There are any number of reports recently, with various software,
that are doing this.

First, hold down Ctrl when starting Word to go into Safe Mode. Test. If the
problem is gone, then you're looking for a Word Add-in.

If the problem is still there, try starting Windows in Safe Mode. Test. If the
problem is gone, then you're looking for a tool that's loading when Windows
boots.

From the sound of it, you're working in an IT-supported environment? If that's
the case, you should probably ask them to help you track down the exact culprit.
