Problem about Project Task Assignment.

Hi all
I am confused about the problem about project task assignment.
I have a mpp file locally, then I save the mpp to project server and map the
local resourse to Project Resources.
After I publish the project , I open the pwa to find out that all tasks have
been assigned to myself, the team members cannot see their own tasks...
what's the problem?

This is because enterprise resources don't have the "Default Assignment
Owner" value set to themselves in your system. Therefore all assignments
are defaulted to the person who created the project plan (you).

So that this doesn't happen on future projects: Make sure all enterprise
resources have themselves set as the "Default Assignment Owner" (can only be
set via PWA>Edit Resources or PWA>Server Settings>Manage Users

To fix the current projects: In the schedule, switch to task usage or
resource usage view and include the field "Assignment Owner". Copy the
resource name from name field into the "Assignment Owner" field and
re-publish the schedule.

Many thanks to Jnathan!
This problem has troubled me for a long time.
But our resource pool is synchronized from Active directory, is there any
way to make the "Default Assignment Owner" to be automaticly set?

Unfortunately, AD Synch does not populate the "Default Assignment Owner" and
this field is only accessible to edit via PWA. This would need to be set
one user at a time which defeats the purpose of AD Synch in my opinion.

The user fields updated from the AD are:
First name, last name, NTuser, email (depends if it is updated in AD). The
MSP2007 defines the following user fields as default when user are created
by AD:
- User can be assigned as a resource
- Initials are defined as the first letter of the first name
- Account status is defined as "Active"
- Windows Authentication, using the Windows account
- Resource can be leveled
- Standard Calendar
- "Committed" booking type
- The user is defined as it's own "Timesheet Manager"

The only other options I can think of both require custom code:
1) Develop your own event handler that populates this field using PSI
methods (not sure if this even works)
2) Contact The Project Group regarding their latest release of Resource Link
for PS 2007 which has the ability to synchronize the Enterprise Resource
Pool with any custom resource data extract in a specific XML format. They
were working on being able to populate this "Default Assignment Owner"
field, just not sure if they were successful.
