Problem: Access 97 and Office 2000 on Win2000 Pro

I have a full version on Office 2000 and a upgrade version of Access 97
(stand alone program used with full Office Versions). I have installed
Office 2000 on my new pc (Windows 2000 Professional). I have tried to
install the Access 97 program but am prohibited because the setup wizard
states that there is no eligible program found on the PC.
This same configuration has worked on my older PC, Windows ME.
Can anyone help?

Your older PC evidently had an eligible program on it to upgrade from. Your
new one doesn't. Do you have disks with eligible programs?

Thanks Mike for your quick response,
Access 97 worked fine on my old computer. The operating system on the old
computer is Windows ME. and Office 2000. My new computer's operating system
is Windows 2000 professional. I installed Office 2000 on the new computer
with no problems. Was unable to install Access 97 on the new system. The
only difference between the two computers is the operating system. It
appears that Access 97 will not operate with Windows 2000 operating system
and yes I do have the discs for Windows ME, Office 2000 and Access 97. Hope
this will clarify my problem. Thanks again.

Because you must have upgraded from something else to install it. That's
what you need with an Upgrade edition.

It's the disk for the eligible program required for upgrade that you need.
That will be something older than Access 97 e.g. Access 95, and not the
operating system.
