Hello,
I'm having a small problem in accessing my e-mail from the
IE6 browser pane. This is a new wrinkle that has just
shown up this morning. The error message I receive is as
follows: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path
or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to
access the item." I also get an error message when trying
to load (i.e. when clicking on) a posted e-mail URL while
online... with an error message advising something about
the client e-mail program not being the default.
It's still possible to send e-mail from an Internet web
site by simply typing the address into a newly-generated e-
mail window, which is still do-able. But not being able to
check mail while online has me spooked. I've reinstalled
Internet Explorer 6 and run sfc /scannow to check files.
No change. I'm also getting an error in the MS Help and
Support section of my XP Home O.S. regarding a graphics or
rendering problem. Very strange. If anyone could please
advise of a repair procedure that would correct these
glitches I'd be grateful.
