Problem accessing files after installing service packs

N

Nan

Hi -

After installing the Office service packs 1 through 3, I
now have problems with Front Page.

While I can open my web (which is saved on our local
server, rather than on my computer), see the files, and
open them, I cannot save files - I get the following error:

"An error occurred accessing your front page web files.
AUthors - if authoring against a web server, please
contact the webmaster for this server's site. Webmasters -
please see system log for more details."

Similarly, I can view files in the folder list, but cannot
delete/rename, etc. I also can't update links from
the "broken hyperlinks" report.

I have tried reinstalling front page, tried uninstalling
the service packs, etc., but cannot solve this problem.
Any help, please?

You need to look in Event Viewer of the Web server to see what the error is.

In that case, the error message should be in the frontpg.log file.

I'm not sure what that means - but I assume this is
something our IT person will have to do looking at the
server - not something I can do from my computer?

Correct.
