Problem applying layer colors

I am having a problem getting applied layers/colors to show up. I have
several shapes on the page. I have set up three layers each with different
colors. I used the format command to assign a layer to each shape. When
applied, the color applied to the shape via the layer, does not show up. Am
I missing something?

if a shape is assigned to multiple layers all of the layer colors are
assigned (and the last one assigned is the one you see). The next issue is
that if a shape is complex (i.e. a gouped shape) some of the sub objects may
not accept the layer colors for a number of reasons.

Thanks for the reply. I have simple shapes (rectangles), no grouped
entities, no mulitple layers applied.

As a test, I just opened a flowchart template (has two layers on the blank
page, flowchart and connector). I changed the page connector layer to red
and the flowchart layer to blue. I then added two flowchart shapes and a
connector and the colors for the objects were set correctly. I am at version
v2003.

I tried your example. Same results you got. Connector is correct color.
Flowchart shape border line is correct color but there is no fill color.

no mine did not fill the shape with color (as designed). the question is
draw color (that of the lines) and fill color.
