I found this message on your boards and am finding that having installed
Office XP alongside Winfax Basic 10.0 from Norton Systemworks, the Winfax
backup application won't complete. I have then installed an updated
Systemworks and find that they have deleted WInfax from it completely and
the old winfax installation is continuing as before (and not working as
before)

Do you know if this matter has been resolved or not? I have found that
sometimes you guys tend to know what is going on when SYmantec have
transferred all their service over to Bangalore and staffed it with people
who just respond to questions with stock answers which tend to have nothing
to do with the problem. It is then impossible to get in touch with them to
figure out if this is a problem they resolved or if it is one they couldnt
fix

Jonathan

Yeah, there is a conflict between Norton and WinFax which is just one of the
many conflicts the Office Plug-in option causes.

If you left the Office Plug-in option in Norton enabled if you encounter
another
problem try disabling the option to see if that rectifies it. :)

Hi Jonathan,

So far there has been no resolution from Symantec regarding the
"Office Plug-in" option. If anything the problems it causes have
gotten worse. :-(

If a previous version of NAV was installed, which contained the
plug-in, and Norton Systemworks was installed later the DLL for the
plug-in could still be registered. So if you are still encountering
this issue try the following:

Search for officeav.dll and if found go to Start/Run and run the
following command:

regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\norton antivirus\officeav.dll"

In the above example the path for "Officeav.dll" would depend on the
location of the DLL.
