I work at a place where a few of my coworkers will be working on legal
documents and while working on a document, or saving changes, they will get
the following error message. I have verified that all users have Word 2002
and SP3.
Another clerk was having issues where it would reference an invalid file
name or path. I added the new DWORD RepairSmartTags in the following
location:
HKEY_USERS\SW\Micorosoft|Office\10.0|Common and that seemed to "sort of"
work. Now when the law clerk does an open and repair, he must also re save
the document under a new name, or he will get the same message the next time
around.
My question is twofold:
Why does this happen to some and not all clerks? Even though these are
stored on shared drives, quite often none of these documents are worked on by
anyone other than the clerks themselves.
Secondly, will add the new dword in Regedit repair this specific errror
message?
Thanks in advance,
