I use Personal Folders to organize e-mail messages in Outlook 2003 on my
desktop computer. I access those PST files from my notebook computer over an
LAN. Although I believe this access is not supported by Microsoft, the
reference works fine, with one minor exception. If Archive1 and Archive2 are
two archives on my desktop and accessed from my notebook computer, I can
close Archive1 on my notebook, but when I try to close Archive2, I get a
diagnostic message "The operation failed. An object could not be found." If
fact, the PSTs listed on my notebook now include two references to Archive2,
neither of which can be closed. Both references work fine for storing and
retrieving messages, but it would be nice to be able to clean up the list.
This problem has persisted through several updates to Outlook2003 on both
computers and regardless of what I name the folders on the desktop or where I
store those files.
What do I need to do to close the references?
