I am running Word 2000 under Windows ME on a P4 PC. The program seems to be
running perfectly, but as from a few days ago, when I close Word I get an
error message "Winword has caused an error in WINWORD.EXE. Word will now
close".
Sometimes, though not always, this is preceded by "Changes have been made
that affect the global template Normal.dot. Do you want to save these
changes?" To this I answer No.
I searched various help sites and FAQs but haven't found anything specific
to a problem when closing (as opposed to opening) the program. I've tried
renaming Normal.dot, deleting Normal.dot, and removing and reinstalling
Word. None of this makes any difference.
Any thoughts and suggestions will be most gratefully received.
