Problem connecting to exchange 2003 server

When I create a profile in outlook 2003 the name can not be resolved. The
email box has been created. The pc is on the domain. The pc is w2k w/
service pack 4. The server can be ping by name. The Dns are correct.

Same problem in a larger scale deployment. Office 2003 deployed to 100+
desktops with custom prf. Now dozen or so can't find Exchance Server, others
work fine. Ping works, use same dns-servers as the other desktops.
