I have a problem connecting my pop3/smtp servers using Outlook 2003. I was
having no problems and made no changes to my email accounts before this
started happening. I checked with tech folks with my pop3/smtp server and
they say everything is set up correctly, so the problem is not at their end.
One symptom of the problem is that when I try to send a message out of
outlook, a small icon is displayed in the process icons on the lower right
hand corner of XP windows. When I move my cursor over this icon, it displays
the msessage "Microsoft Office Otlook is synchronizing folders" After a
period of time I receive the error message that the attempt to connect timed
out.
I have norton internet security and temporarily turned off scanning emails
and my firewall and tried to send a message and had the same response, so I
don't think it is my security software.
I searched the knowledge base and couldn't find an appropriate article.
Any help would be appreciated.
