Problem copying between Excel and Outlook

Office 2000 Pro/Windows ME or 2000

I have a spreadsheet with various formating elements. Some
cell backgrounds, borders and images. I want to select and
copy a given area, then past into an HTML outlook message.
Problem is only partial formatting is copied. The image is
fine and the layout is close, but the borders and
backgrounds do not transfer. Weird thing is, it works on 3
out of 4 computers running default install of everything!
Any ideas?

in Excel select the area you want to copy.
hold the shift key down & select edit from the menu.
select "copy picture".
go to outlook & paste it into the message.
