Having just moved to System X Panther from 9.2, and from Word 5.1 to
Word for X, I'm running up against a new mystery every hour.
The latest came up when I tried to copy/paste text from an old Word
5.1 generated file since converted to Word for X into an e-mail in Mac's
e-mail program. The paste resulted in lines of nonsense symbols in
the e-mail. I've saved the document in various formats: rtf, text only,
copied and pasted the text numerous times--to no avai. The pate to e-
mail always results in the nonsense symbols. I have noticed that in the
label that appears after I choose Save As, there is a row of XXXXX's
across the title line. I cannnot delete, alter these XXXX's.
Any ideas?
