Problem creating SP sites from Project Server

J

jeff

When I create a SharePoint site from PS, the site is created however I
get an error that "failed to add custom roles for Project Server".
Basically, none of the custom Project specific SP groups (e.g.,
"Project Managers", etc) get created (and therefore none of the
project resources are added).

Same thing happens if I enable auto-generation of SP sites when
publishing ent. projects. The site gets created, but no groups or
resources are added.

The only site that did configure correctly with all the groups and
users was the default document site.

Jeff:

The account you use for the Com+ STSAdmin identity must be a member of the
local administrators group on the Sever running WSS. It sounds like it might
not have this key credential on your system.

Gary,

Yes I used pscomplus to set that account, and it does have local admin
rights. I have both SharePoint and PS on the same box. As I mentioned
the site *is* created just not the Project specific SP groups. Any
ideas?

many thanks,

jeff

Are you using 2002 or 2003? I don't know why your system is failing to
create the local groups. It could be a permissions issue or network security
policy conflict.

Gary,

I'm using 2003 Adv. Server. I'm going to look into some of the network
security settings. If I log on with the STSAdmin account, I can create
SP groups from the site created.

Do you no if Project Server writes to a log file?

thanks.
