Hallo,
a quite large, refined and frequently used spreadsheet has been created on a
pc which uses the Euro (?) as the default Windows currency setting. Since I
use another pc (which has the same Windows currency settings!) the
spreadsheet has the annoying habbit of displaying the cells which were
formatted as currency (using the currency button on the format bar) now in $
instead of ? .If I enter figures into an empty cel and use the currency
button these figures are also displayed in Dollars instead of the Euro.
When I create a new, empty spreadsheet the currencies are correctly in ?!
I found a cure for the problem: If I have opened the "problem-sheet", and
(while it is open) I open the Windows country settings (Settings /
international), go to the Currency tab sheet and - whithout changing
anything!!! - click on OK, then all the currency formatted cels of my
problem spreadsheet are instantly displayed in ? (as they should have been
all the time). But why do I have to do that?!
I know that if a spreadsheet is created and saved the first time, then the
current Windows Currency setting determines the format of the cells which
are used with the currency button. But this spreadsheet HAD BEEN SAVED ON A
EURO PC, so why is it switching to $ while all other spreadsheets are ok?
Who can help and tell me where to find / change the default currency
settings of an existing spreadsheet?
Thank you in advance!!!
