Problem deleting an e-mail rule

I am using Outlook 2003 and am having a problem with deleting a rule. I
originally had a rule configured such that when receiving an e-mail from a
specific address, it would be moved to a folder in my mailbox. I no longer
need this rule and deleted it. However, when I now receive an e-mail from the
address specified in the now deleted rule, it does not show up in my inbox. I
have tested this numerous times by having an e-mail sent from the address
specified in the now deleted rule and it does not show up in my inbox. What
am I doing wrong and how do I correct this?
