Neither version of Office 2003 SP 2 will work for me. I normally don't have
such problems? Is it available on CD?
Thanks
Ella

Tiny Belgium is jumping in to assist...

I'm pleased to say I've done a translated summary of the main threads
published on this Group between 28/10 and 06/10 especially for *Ms Office
2003 French-speaking users*. Hopefully you do understand enough French to
use my contribution. You should regard it as a mere summary of all the
procedures that have been said to succeed in installing Office 2003 SP2. If
your French is too basic please revert to the threads the references of
which are mentioned between brackets.

The update is not available on a Ms CD (yet?). I suppose one or the other
computer's magazine will be eager to release it at very short notice, but
I'm afraid the installation problem will remain, though. So it's best to put
one's back into the features I've gone into the trouble of
getting to know and translate unless you'd rather use the original thread
references provided.

This contribution was released last night on *microsoft.public.fr.officexp*
(10/06 9:38 pm -- GMT + 2).
Thread name is: 'Office 2003/SP2 : le point'.

*Important note* : download links mentioned are for French-speaking users
only.

Good luck! ;-)

Try doing a repair install, then try the update again:

Method 1 – Open Word, go to Help – Select Detect and Repair

or use Method 2 -

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Add or Remove Programs.
3. Click the Office program that you want to repair, and then click Change.
4. In the Maintenance Mode Options dialog box, click Reinstall or Repair,
and then
click Next.
5. In the Reinstall or Repair Office dialog box, click Detect and Repair
errors in my
Office installation, and then click Install.
6. When the repair process is finished, run the update again.

Most likely you will need to have your Office CD handy.
