Problem downloading templates

I'm trying to download templates from within Microsoft Word 2007. Naturally,
the program initiates the validation process each time I attempt to do this.
Each time I get the message that my copy of Office Home and Student 2007 may
not be genuine. Frustrating, since I purchased my copy of Microsoft Office
Professional 2007 not quite a month ago.
Anyway, I hit the button to "Get Genuine" and it launches a window in my
default browser, Mozilla Firefox 3.0.3, and it says "No Product Key
Detected". I hit the "Detailed Validation " button, which then takes me to a
page saying "Validation Successful." Then nothing. No template downloaded.
The cycle begins again.
I am running Microsoft Office Professional 2007 on Microsoft Vista Home

Any solutions?

I assume you did not uninstall the trial version of Home and Student? That
may be causing the problems. Can you dowload templates directly from the
Microsoft site?

Hi JoAnn,

My laptop came installed with Microsoft Works, but no trial version of Home
and Student.

But yes, I can download templates directly from the site (using Internet
Explorer only, of course).

Somewhere it is seeing the HSE version. If your version of Office Pro is a
full version, I'd be tempted to uninstall Works and Office, and then
reinstall Office. As for using IE, that doesn't surprise me.
