Problem found in View Resource Usage of EPM

W

Weerayuth S.

I use enterprise resource pool in EPM.
In my PC the Resource Usage View does not show resource usage info from all
enterprise projects. It shows only resource usage info in that project.

I open the same file in my friend PC. It shows resource usage info from all
enterprise projects. What wrong in my setting?

Thankyou.

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is devoted to
the Microsoft desktop application only. To answer your question, do the
following:

1. Launch Project Professional.
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Microsoft Office Project Server
Accounts.
3. In the dialog, select the "Manually control connection state" option and
then click OK.
4. Exit Project Professional and then relaunch the software.

In the Project Server Accounts dialog, notice that the "Load summary
resource assignments" option is deselected. This is why you don't see
assignment information for other projects in the Resource Usage view. If
you wish to see those assignments in other projects, select this option and
then click the Connect button. Hope this helps.

Dear Mr. Dale Howard

Oh yes, It's work now! Thanks.
I may unselected the the "Load summary resource assignments" option by chance.
I did not notice the different until I check Resource Usage View.
Now I understood. This is quite useful for me; I can control the resource
usage information from opened project or I can exclude it the way I wanted.
Thank you very much.

By the way, as I use the Resource Usage View; I tried gouping information by
project, work, etc. It's seem Grouping function not work for Resource Usage
View.
Do you have any idea, what I did wrong?

I am in Bangkok and new to the community, I use Project Pro 2003 with PWA,
next time I will post EPM questions in Project Server site. Sorry for any
inconvenience. This community is quite helpful.

Many thanks and greeting from Bangkok.

You are more than welcome for the help. Without knowing what type of
grouping you are trying to apply, it's difficult to troubleshoot your
problem. However, I can tell you that Grouping does work in the Resource
Usage view. One thing you might need to do is to select the "Group
assignments, not resources" option in the Group Definition or Customize
Group By dialogs. Hope this helps.

Dear Dale,

Thank you very much.
I missed the check box.
Now, it works.
Thank you.
