Problem getting Outlook to start "MAPI32.DLL corrupt"&netwrok reso

Hi Outlook wont start - when I try and open it I get Window installer saying
a network resource is unavailable.
"enter a path to a folder containing installer package
"511735.MAINSP1op.msp" in the box below.

The box shows only one path "Program Files\OfficeUpdate11\Cabs\511735\"

The install will not work and a message " MAPI32.DLL is corupt or wrong
version"

When Outlook 2003 would not open I unistalled and reinstalled Office 2003 -
I can now not even uninstall even via the Office CD - it keeps bringing up
the path is wrong.

This is on my laptop running XP - I do have wireless and network options on
the laptop but I am not using a network at the moment. THis problem seemed to
happen yesterday after a auto microsoft downlaod and then th elaptop froze
during use and it ran chkdsk on start up.

I have tried system restore but Outlook still will not open.

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Rich,

Any luck on a solution? My laptop is doing the exact same thing! It also
effects my Adobe. When I open a .pdf the Windows Installer boxes pops up, I
click Cancel about 8- 10 times and the installer box disappears and the .pdf
file opens.

Thanks
Alexis
