Problem importing data into table.

Frank Martin

My bank downloads chq account data as
CSV(Comma delimited).

If I open the resulting file, it does so with
Excel, and all the data is present.

But when I use the "Get External Data" from
the Access2003 window, I get a wizard which
displays the data, but not all the records
are present, and typically 5 records are left
off the bottom in the wizard dialogue box,
and these are left off the final import into
the table.

Must I do something to the file BEFORE I use
the Access2003 "Get External Data" wizard?

Please help, Frank

Just my own personal undocumented and imprecisely measured experience...
Access import is not necessarily as reliable as Excel's, odd as it may
seem. Since you are having problems, you might be better off slurping
the text up in Excel first, sort to remove blank rows etc., save as XLS,
then import the XLS to Access.

Thanks, I'm desperate and will try this.
