Problem Importing PDFs

Sure - here's a link to one. All of the integral symbols convert to junk, as
well as some of the other special symbols.

Any chance you can post a link to the problematic PDF?

When I import certain PDF files into OneNote, some of the document becomes
garbled, while some remains readable.

Before (in Adobe Reader):

After (in ON): http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/8938/afterra6.jpg

This will occur regardless of whether I print directly to OneNote or try
to
import as printout.

Tried it with printing into ON. The result IMO is perfect.
Pls see here:

As your previous sample sowed a totally different font: Might it have to
do with the fonts installed on your system?
Which software did you use to open the PDFs and print them to ON?

What version of Adobe Reader do you have Rainald? I tried it here and the
result was dismal.
I am not sure it is fonts. When I printed it to a different printer, the
result was correct.

I'm using Adobe Reader 8.x

Strange

I'm not sure either. It was just a shot in the fog.

No ON on my old notebook (the only thing under XP).

Yeah appears that way.. Is there a way to fiddle with the fonts in either ON
or Reader?

I'd say we have an issue with Windows XP here...

No, unfortunately not.

Fiddling would have to be done on *producing* the PDF - settings for
*embedding* fonts, possibly.

So at this point we're out of luck? Changes would have to be made while
making the PDF itself?

I think so.

I checked the "Symbol" fonts on my laptop under XP an on my desktop.
The are totally different.
And I checked the internals of your PDF for the fonts embedded.
It's different from both.

I have a closer look the other day and report again.

Rainald
P.S. The format version of your PDF is rather old (1.3 - Acrobat 4.x)
